O is for Orangutan
Exploration of the human impact on species, specifically the threat of orangutans. Sadly, many of them are critically endangered and soon to become extinct estimated within the next 10 years. Populations have decreased 50% in the wild. Among illegal animal trading, orangutans are threatened due to the destruction of tropical rainforests from logging, palm oil plantations, and mining.
Let's help prevent this by:
🗒 Buying FSC certified paper to support sustainably sourced wood/lumber
💸 Donate to the Center for Greater Apes
🛍 Switch to palm oil free products like Lush soaps or Nivea/Eucerin lotions. More than 50% of products use palm oil and it’s so important to support those that source sustainably.
